Managing my Time

Managing time is a learned behavior… with constant learning and lessons along the way. These learned methods and practices take time and refinement, and then more practice and more refining. And more grace when we fail, did I mention that yet?

It’s so easy to think that other people are just naturally born at managing their time well. And the thing is, is that it takes failing and refining over and over in order to establish a well oiled machine for managing time… and then keep the machine running despite LIFE happening. It’s a constantly evolving process, and it’s not easy. Can I get an amen?

Strawberry Galette

Last week we had some lovely friends come over to our house for the first time for dinner. We could have paid for a babysitter to come over and then the four of us adults could have gone out to dinner for adult conversation- Certainly, and sometimes we do get the infamous babysitter. But this time we stayed home- cozy, sweats, and real life- and we made create-your-own-fajitas. Mmmm. But this is the EASY, 5- minute dessert I made for all of us that evening. Then I made it again over the weekend because I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

“Let’s Get Real” Edition: Saturday Nights

Let’s get real, folks. Just come with me.

(PS- this is going to be a new series. Get ready to get real… on a variety of topics)

Let’s get to the chase… It is not uncommon to find me at home on a Saturday night by 9pm. Or 8pm. Or… ::silence::

And to this, I’m not ashamed. At all. I’m loud and proud of this boring, uneventful, not-very-exciting- type of preference. I have embraced this as a lifestyle over time.

Because I’ve found it’s not actually boring, uneventful, and not-very-exciting.

Resource Guide: 10 Ways to Regain Your Health

Happy Monday. Can you even believe that it’s the end of January?! Where did the time go?

Lately we have been spending a lot more time outside- building a snowman or sledding, so we’ve been really trying to embrace all the snow we have outside. Our friends have a long sledding hill in their backyard which we all used used this weekend and it was fun and fast. Which, might I add, I forgot the workout you get when you go sledding! That uphill climb while hauling a sled and carrying a toddler- whew! But alas, we will have temps in the mid 40’s today (#heatwave!) so bye-bye snow.
